Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Code Engineer / Data Engineer to perform the role of an AI Engineer, supporting AI initiatives for public sector projects. This role focuses on architecting, fine-tuning, and deploying AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions that improve how information is created, processed, and analysed. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and responsible AI solutions for use cases such as grants processing, building inspection report assessment, and fraud detection.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI solutions aligned with business requirements and approved use cases
- Develop, optimise, fine-tune, and deploy AI/ML and foundation models for text, image, and data analysis
- Build and maintain robust AI pipelines integrated with existing systems and workflows
- Design and maintain prompt engineering frameworks and evaluation metrics
- Conduct experiments to improve model performance, efficiency, and output quality
- Implement safeguards and controls for AI-generated content
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven process automation and redesign
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Government security, data governance, and privacy standards
- Document workflows and ensure reproducibility of AI pipelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Strong programming skills in at least one of the following:
- Python
- Java
- TypeScript / JavaScript
- Go (Golang)
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face
- Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI)
- Strong understanding of:
- Vector databases
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Agentic AI
- Experience with AI deployment platforms and MLOps practices (e.g. AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, GCP Vertex, Databricks Mosaic AI)
- Hands-on experience building applications using large language models (local or API-based such as GPT, Gemini, LLaMA, Claude)
- Understanding of transformer architectures, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning techniques
- Knowledge of Singapore data privacy, security, and Responsible AI principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in Agile teams
Additional Requirements
- Must pass the online technical assessment administered by the Government Technology Agency’s Digital Academy
- Must be legally eligible to work in Singapore without employer sponsorship
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Singapore government or public sector AI projects
- Experience in building and construction sector or regulatory domain projects
