As a Customer Engineer, you will work with technical Sales teams as a machine learning subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, and problem-solving any potential roadblocks. You will work with customers and product development to shape the future of the AI platform.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Provide in-depth expertise on enterprise infrastructure/cloud modernization and Vertex Search to support the technical relationship with customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud architectures in customer-facing/support roles.
  • Experience in pre-sales/consulting, delivering technical presentations, and leading discovery and planning sessions with customers.
  • Experience with semantic search frameworks and tools/databases (e.g., LangChain, Faiss, Pinecone), and search concepts (e.g., indexing, scoring, relevancy, faceting, query rewriting).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Vertex AI.
  • Experience with full stack ML engineering to seamlessly combine retrieval-based knowledge and generative text generation to implement and optimize RAG models using first-party and OSS models.
  • Familiarity with existing search products (e.g., ElasticSearch, Cognitive Search, Glean, etc.).
  • Ability to create quick prototypes/demos, articulate them to a customer audience, and integrate with existing systems.
  • Excellent programming skills in Java, Python, or similar, with a focus on automation.
  • Ability to communicate in Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, or Vietnamese fluently to engage and support customers in these regions in navigating industry standards.
