Microsoft Capacity, Supply Chain, and Provisioning (CSCP) is an exciting and fast-evolving organization within Microsoft. CSCP’s mission is to optimize and deliver industry-leading cloud infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services used by our customers around the world. The organization is responsible for the strategy and delivery of the foundational platform for all Microsoft Online Services including demand and capacity forecasting along with supply chain management which includes planning, sourcing, logistics and fulfilment. CSCP supports over 200 online businesses including Azure, Search, O365, OneDrive and Xbox.
Cloud Capacity Planning is one of the most central functions within CSCP due to its direct impact on Microsoft cloud business success. This team forecasts, plans and manages the majority of Microsoft’s cloud services and directly influences cloud user experience. This is a central function that closely partners with Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Data Centers, NPI and Deployment Engineering.
India Center-of-Excellence (CoE) is a comparatively new team which offers capabilities to make planning processes efficient and best-in-industry by bringing expertise in areas like Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Engineering and Analytics. The team is growing very fast to get ahead of Cloud Supply Chain demand increase and set up practices for structured long, medium and short-range planning.
Responsibilities
Analysis and Insight Generation
- Provides coaching to team members on business context, interpretation, and the implications of findings. Interprets findings and their implications for multiple businesses and champions methodological rigour by calling attention to the limitations of knowledge wherever biases in data, methods, and analysis exist.
- Generates and leverages insights that inform future studies and reframe the research agenda.
- Informs both current business decisions by implementing and adapting supply-chain strategies through complex business intelligence.
- Work with extended team members to understand the KPI requirement, target performance measure and design the metric / KPI.
- Partner with Supply Chain experts to understand business processes and related systems, which can create data sources for effective performance measurements.
- Develop and Maintain Data Visualizations for Supply Chain effectiveness measurement.
- Help other team members with relevant data for ad-hoc analysis of a problem.
- Understand various demand sources of Supply Chain data and guide other team members to refer to the appropriate data source on a need basis.
Data Quality and Consistency
- Define and Maintain the processes and procedures for Data Consistency for the SC enterprise. Drive issue resolution across different organization constituencies.
- Lead internal process improvements, create process documentation and bring different and new perspectives to solving problems.
- Partner with Product Data Management Engineering, Sourcing, Supply Chain Ops; Planning groups to ensure accurately; timely maintenance of Product; SC data.
- Monitor internal requests and establish standard processes to improve efficiencies and provide internal customer support.
- Work independently to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Effectively run cross-organizational meetings to lead teams to consensus and/or decisions to meet deliverables.
- Drive compliance to established standards and metrics.
- Communicate and enforce data policies, rules, and standards.
- Perform data analysis, leveraging large data sets to develop insights & support data management decisions, track, monitor, and publish cross-data quality reporting/scorecards.
- Provide clear, effective, and timely communications.
- Maintain flexibility with regard to work hours to support worldwide communications as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/IT operations, Data Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3-6 years' experience in SC/Product Data operations/management/analysis.
- Must have design & development experience in Power BI or Tableau, Excel, data analytics; reporting tools.
- Should be proficient in SQL query building, or other databases management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enterprise data management, integration, analytical, and data quality skills.
- Experience as a data engineer, BI developer, or data analyst.
- Thorough knowledge of SQL, DataBricks, Cosmos, Spark.
- Understands data pipelines, data cleansing, data transformations and other analytical techniques required for data manipulation.
- Ability to manage numerous competing priorities in a flexible and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to successfully collaborate across multiple teams.
- Capable of strong individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams.
- Problem-solving capability.
- Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
- Cloud / high tech supply chain experience is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication, organization, and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
- Analytical aptitude while able to maintain a broader perspective, identifies and evaluates opportunities to enhance the business through cross-group collaboration.
