Qualifications And Experience
Experience:
- The candidate should be creative and forward-thinking, answering the burning research questions by diving into data to test hypotheses and evolving trends.
- Should have strong statistical and analytical background as she/he will be positioned as a subject matter specialist for data analytics.
- Will drive research projects exploring data analytics and visualization using diverse statistical tools/techniques.
- Should be a proactive contributor who understands the implication of action and leaves nothing to chance.
- Must be confident in bringing ideas to the table and about developing a deep understanding of the business applications of our technology.
- Must be a focused multi-tasker who realistically scopes tasks, meets deadlines, and goes the extra mile when needed.
- Must be a collaborative self-starter, able to make progress, add structure, and spearhead leading edge developments in the context of dynamic and ambitious requirements.
- Should have experience evaluating relationships between multiple variables and using patterns to shape predictive insights.
- Should have experience in distilling the outcomes and findings into broadly digestible formats via compelling visualizations and well written reports.
- Will contribute to the development of thought ware, across ideation of research topics to analyze and creation of final reports targeted to senior executives.
- Needs to collaborate with other data science colleagues and stakeholders on daily basis for timely deliverables and should have strong communication skills and good stakeholder management skills.
- Would be primarily working with industry centers and other internal stakeholders on data science projects. He/she needs to brainstorm new research ideas with US and global internal stakeholders and research leaders. He/she needs to understand the business objectives, define data science problem statement/use cases, formulate hypotheses and collect the relevant data using SQL/R/Python. He/she needs to explore and analyze the data collected to derive insights using various Machine Learning techniques, visualize the findings and present the same to leaders.
- The candidate must be well versed in a variety of theory and techniques in machine learning and data mining such as:
- Supervised and unsupervised clustering, regression and classification, including Bayesian methods, parameter estimation, support vector machines, neural networks, decision trees, reinforcement learning and deep learning models
- Mathematical optimization, such as linear, quadratic and semi-definite programming, Markov Chain Monte Carlo and Variational methods, and computational linguistics
- Proficient in Python including NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, SciKit-Learn and other packages that enable data science and machine learning at scale
- MapReduce concepts and distributed computations.
- The candidate must be well versed in Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science. He should have ability to understand data structures using computer programs/algorithms, explain complex data architectures such as:
- Strong business acumen to understand context of the research situation and identify data analytics opportunities to differentiate analysis, and guide analytics process by framing hypotheses and stating research problem to accurately reflect the research situation
- Perform statistical analysis of large datasets to better understand trends and relationships between variables to inform predictive insights.
- Design and build data visualizations using diverse sets of structured and unstructured data, and write engaging synopsis to inform methodology, assumptions, and conclusions of the analysis
- Propose creative analytics ideas and encourage fellow team members to explore advanced analytic techniques, solutions and platforms to pursue new ideas – design research proposal, build consensus, and formulate plan.
- Identify internal and external information sources, build effective working relationships with subject matter experts within the firm and the external marketplace.
