Job Description:
The Toyota Connected team is looking for a Mid Data Scientist to be a part of a highly talented engineering team to help create new products and services from the ground up for the next generation connected vehicles. We are looking for team members that are required to be creative in solving problems, excited to work in new technology areas and be ready to wear multiple hats to get things done in a highly-energized, fast-paced, innovative and collaborative environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Mid-Level Data scientist will prototype, design, and implement predictive models and algorithms
- They will be included in the full model life cycle including data cleansing, feature creation engineering, model selection, model tuning, deployment, and monitoring
- They will write maintainable and extensible tested code that adheres to standards, produce specifications, determine operation feasibility, and troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade new and existing systems
- Use statistical and machine learning techniques to create scalable solutions for vehicle telemetry data and video analysis, and perform R&D to drive discovery of new generation mobility products
- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analysis, model development, model validation and model implementation
- Deliver production-ready code
- Work with Product Owners to define the KPIs for machine learning projects
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of production experience working in Machine Learning, Data Science, and/or Software Engineering
- Ability to write clean, concise, tested, maintainable code in python
- Solid production experience using Python (including NumPy, SKLearn) and SQL
- Production experience with Apache Spark or similar technologies
- Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis
- Experience implementing Machine Learning pipelines in production environments
- Experience working in a team oriented, Agile software engineering environment
- Experience implementing solutions in a cloud environment (AWS)
