About the role
We are hiring an Engineering Manager for our Client Foundation team. This team owns the shared app platform, release and distribution infrastructure, internal frameworks, and developer tooling that power Chime’s mobile and web experiences.
This role is critical as we invest in AI-driven development. You will help build foundations that increase frontend velocity across the company.
You will manage a small, high-impact team across five platform domains. You will partner closely with the team’s tech lead to set direction, and stay close to the work. You will also help shape how our client architecture evolves, including how web and mobile platforms come closer together over time.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $199,000.00 and up to $275,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing engineering team
- Enable AI-driven and agentic development workflows across frontend engineering
- Define and drive the vision for frontend platform, and developer tooling
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Improve developer and agent experience, build times, and engineering velocity
- Guide architecture and ensure high standards for quality and performance
- Build strong relationships with product teams and partner teams such as Design Systems
To thrive in this role, you have
- 2+ years of experience managing and growing engineering teams, including hiring
- Experience building or owning client or platform infrastructure
- Engineering background across the full stack (iOS, Android, Web, & Backend)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong technical foundation and ability to guide architecture
- Experience working on large-scale consumer applications
- Nice to have: React Native, web frontend, or backend experience
