As a Lead Data Scientist, you will design, build, and implement ground-breaking visionary ideas to identify and deliver opportunities for complex analysis. You will gather and analyse data to solve and address problems to support The AA and its customers. This role involves putting models into place to enhance customer experience by predicting future trends, supporting decision making, and driving customer and business benefits. This exciting opportunity will help develop, shape, and evolve the business to continue its drive to expand, diversify, and modernise for all customers across all products and services.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead and build a small team, developing, managing, and motivating Junior Data Scientists.
  • Be a leading voice at The AA for data science utilisation, influencing the business for its use where it adds value.
  • Create an ongoing pipeline of data science projects and prioritise based on business need and the value they add.
  • Deliver quick working prototypes to prove hypotheses by building complex statistical models using a range of tools including Databricks, R, Python, and Spark.
  • Use algorithms to develop data and analytics products and work with the data engineering team to correctly embed these algorithms within the AA infrastructure.
  • Provide consultative subject matter expertise, making suggestions for improvement.
  • Keep up to date with modern AI, ML, and software developments, understanding how they can benefit The AA.
  • Proactively understand, prioritise, and manage multiple objectives, inter-dependencies, and risks.

What do I need?

We love tech…

  • Proficient Customer Data Analytics experience developing predictive models in R, Python, and Spark.
  • Experienced with developing complex statistical models, including regression, GLM, Neural Networks, Decision Trees, Bayesian Algorithms, Affinity Analysis, etc.
  • Proven experience in developing Econometrics modelling. Understanding of ATL and BTL marketing campaigns and developing econometric ROI for various channels.
  • Proven experience in developing Machine Learning algorithms to optimise forecasting accuracy for demand and capacity planning.
  • Proven track record in the implementation and delivery of business improving processes/models.
