About the Role
As the Manager, Global Payroll, you will be responsible for overseeing the global payroll function for our rapidly growing employee base. Reporting to the Senior Director, Assistant Controller, this role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while driving efficiency and compliance across all entities. You will manage a small team of payroll specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of global payroll processing for multiple international entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Lead and mentor a small team of payroll specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with global payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other HRIS and financial systems (e.g., Workday).
- Manage relationships with external payroll providers, ensuring service level agreements are met and issues are resolved promptly.
- Oversee year-end payroll activities, including tax filings, W-2s, T-4s, and other statutory reporting.
- Prepare and review payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reports for financial reporting and analysis.
- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new payroll systems or enhancements to existing systems.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring all payroll-related documentation is readily available and accurate.
- Address and resolve complex payroll issues and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll processes, reduce manual effort, and improve data integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in payroll management, with at least 3 years in a global payroll role.
- Proven experience managing and leading a team of payroll professionals.
- Strong knowledge of global payroll laws, regulations, and tax compliance (GAAP, SOX).
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, preferably Workday.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- FPC or CPP certification is a plus.
