About the Role
Bin ZHANG, an Assistant Professor of Computational Biology at MBZUAI, is looking for self-motivated postdocs, PhD/Master’s students, and visiting students to join his group. The research focuses on AI for Systems Biology, leveraging deep learning technologies to model complex biological processes such as gene regulation and antigen presentation. The goal is to facilitate the discovery of novel biological phenomena, putative drug targets, innovative treatment strategies, and improved disease diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research at the interface of AI and biology.
- Develop and apply computational methods for analyzing biological and biomedical data.
- Contribute to publications, presentations, and open-source tool development.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in AI and biological/biomedical sciences.
- Solid programming skills; experience in single-cell data analysis, methodology development, or deep learning (especially multi-modal approaches) is preferred.
- Good English communication skills, including writing and presentation.
