Team Mission
GetYourGuide's Legal Team is passionate about our business and our customers. With Legal Team presence in Berlin, New York and Bangkok, we are trusted and pragmatic business partners, operating in a fast paced environment. Our team finds practicable and innovative solutions for complex problems, manages legal risks and promotes integrity. We are an international and multidisciplinary team with expertise in various fields of law, serving our business flexibly, often also working on topics outside of our core specialty. The position offers lots of opportunities for personal and professional growth within a fast moving environment, enabling independent work while providing support and opportunities to learn and grow on the job. This is a full time role based in our Berlin HQ.
You will
- Be a trusted business partner for stakeholders across the company, acting as both an enabler and guardian. Develop a deep understanding of our business and tech stack, take ownership of our core data protection workstreams, and contribute to the legal team's growing use of AI tooling - both to support our work and to embed compliance into the products our colleagues build.
- Own our core data protection operations end to end - including Data Subject Requests, Records of Processing Activities, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and data retention.
- Set legal standards and provide oversight for our privacy operational processes, working closely with stakeholders across the business.
- Review and negotiate SaaS, vendor, and AI tool agreements as part of our procurement legal review process.
- Act as a trusted legal partner to key business teams, embedding privacy-by-design into product development and advising on AI features, new data flows, and high-impact processing activities.
- Track regulatory developments in data protection and AI, and translate them into actionable updates for the team and business.
- Contribute to the legal team's process improvement and AI tooling work - using AI to make our own legal processes more effective and to support compliance across the company.
Who you are
- A privacy and tech legal professional with expertise in GDPR compliance, data protection operations, and the legal challenges of AI-powered products.
- Full legal qualifications or alternative qualifications for in-house lawyers with excellent results.
- 3-5+ years of post-graduate work experience in an international law firm and/or in a tech company with substantial exposure to data privacy and tech law.
- Strong GDPR and data protection foundations across DPAs, DSARs, ROPA, DPIAs, and retention - comfortable owning these workstreams independently, not just advising on them.
- Genuine interest in AI regulation and the legal implications of AI-powered products and internal tooling.
- A builder mindset - curious about using AI tools to improve legal processes and willing to contribute to internal tooling, not just consume it.
- Foundational knowledge of and affinity for tech and platform business.
- Excellent communication and relationship building - comfortable working directly with engineers, product managers, and operational teams.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a strong plus.
