About the Role
As the Senior Product Manager for Employee Training, you'll own one of 7shifts' newest and most strategically important product pillars: bringing structured, engaging training directly into the app that restaurant teams already use every day. This role requires a PM who thinks natively in AI, understanding how it changes product possibilities. You'll leverage AI to accelerate discovery cycles, multiply squad capacity, and integrate intelligent, AI-powered features as the product's backbone.
You will help restaurant operators replace traditional, disjointed solutions with a unified platform for employee training, preparation, and manager content creation, assignment, and tracking. This role spans the full product lifecycle, from AI-assisted course creation and employee engagement to completion tracking and manager reporting. You will balance the needs of time-pressed operators, hourly employees on mobile devices, and the business goals of growing a new product area from early adoption to scale. Reporting to the SVP, Product, you will collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, and Data to move work from discovery through delivery, taking responsibility for post-shipment outcomes.
What you’ll do:
- Set the vision and roadmap for the Employee Training product by engaging with restaurant operators, synthesizing customer research, and making clear tradeoff decisions to maintain team focus.
- Integrate AI capabilities as a core product feature, not an add-on, by partnering with Engineering and Design to deliver intelligent course creation, personalization, and manager insights that genuinely save operators time.
- Utilize AI to accelerate the team's discovery and delivery cycles by building repeatable, AI-led workflows for research synthesis, customer interview analysis, PRD writing, and competitive monitoring, ensuring faster progress without compromising quality.
- Prototype with AI tools to validate ideas with your designer before they become engineering work.
- Transform ambiguous problems into clear, prioritized work by defining success metrics upfront, tracking outcomes post-launch, and using insights to drive future iterations.
- Connect Engineering, Design, Data, and Marketing to ensure that developed solutions are technically sound, well-positioned, and effectively adopted on the restaurant floor.
What you bring:
- Experience in B2B SaaS, with an understanding of building tools for operators in fast-moving, high-pressure environments.
- A track record of taking a product or feature from inception to initial customers and continuously improving it post-launch, demonstrating measurable outcomes.
- Ownership of a roadmap end-to-end, making prioritization decisions that link daily work to business goals, defensible with data and clear reasoning.
- Proficiency in defining success metrics before building, setting metrics, validating hypotheses, and using analytics for subsequent decisions.
- Ability to translate customer interviews, competitive research, and complex real-world problems into simple, scalable solutions, engaging stakeholders without direct authority.
- Daily use of AI tools in your own work for faster writing, information synthesis, and quicker decision-making, with the ability to integrate these habits into a team's workflow.
- Experience shipping features involving difficult tradeoffs, balancing technical constraints, user needs, and business goals, and effectively aligning engineering and design.
It’d be even cooler if you had:
- Experience building or scaling learning, training, or LMS products, understanding how to design for knowledge retention.
- A background in edtech or workforce enablement, where engagement and completion rates are key metrics.
- Familiarity with product-led growth motions, understanding how in-product experience drives adoption and expansion.
- Previous experience in restaurant-tech, hospitality, or another high-turnover, shift-based industry where simplicity and speed of onboarding are critical.
