About the Role
The Data Science & AI Department, part of the Tech Division at Rakuten, leads the transformation of Rakuten through the commercialization of Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Computing, and Machine Intelligence Technologies. The AI Solutions Incubation Section focuses on ideating, developing, and providing transformative AI products in areas like Commerce, Financial Services, and Marketing, leveraging Rakuten’s extensive ecosystem and global data points.
Responsibilities
- Drive the Priorities and Experience for ML productionization, ML model management, and governance best practices.
- Establish robust processes for ML Deployments and Operations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to define product priorities.
- Identify critical customer journeys for ML model governance and ML productionization / ML Operations.
- Construct and maintain a stack-ranked product backlog.
- Attend customer meetings and conferences regularly.
- Evangelize AI and Machine Learning across the firm.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a Product / Program Management role.
- Minimum 5 years of experience shipping AI/ML or cloud products.
- Proficiency in the Japanese language is an added advantage.
- A solid grasp of the machine learning lifecycle and best practices.
- A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies.
- Ability to communicate the logic, reason, and priority of each customer user journey.
- Ability to iterate on user stories and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A willingness to help and share knowledge with other team members.
- An insatiable appetite for feedback and constructive criticism.
- The ability to anticipate needs and take required actions.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and the utmost attention to detail.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
