What You’ll Do

Epic Games is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our cinematics team. This role will focus on workflow and content creation, in addition to working directly with our art and engineering teams to help push the visual fidelity and storytelling for our cinematics.

In this role, you will

  • Help define, create, and support advanced animation, rigging, and motion capture workflows for our cinematics team
  • Work closely with the Cinematic Director, Leads, and Animators to ensure the highest quality cinematic content while maintaining efficiency
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with artists and provide solutions and improvements to the pipeline
  • Research, develop, and implement new techniques for cinematic content creation
  • Identify areas for improvement within our toolset and pipeline and work to develop solutions with our engineering team
  • Train artists on new tools and workflows

What we’re looking for

  • 8+ years experience in games or film as a Technical Artist with a focus on cinematics
  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine's Sequencer and cinematic pipelines
  • Extensive knowledge of Maya and other 3D software packages
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, rigging, and motion capture integration
  • Experience with VFX, lighting, and rendering in a real-time engine
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python preferred)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for creating high-quality cinematic content
  • Experience with C++ is a plus
