Epic Games is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our Engine team. In this role, you’ll join a team of passionate engineers and content creators making features and improvements for Unreal Engine’s rendering and animation systems. Responsibilities
- Work with a team of engineers to develop new rendering and animation features for Unreal Engine.
- Create example content and prototypes to drive the development of new features, ensuring they meet artist needs.
- Work with developers, artists, and designers to identify and solve art-pipeline issues.
- Drive improvements to artist workflows and tools to improve efficiency and quality.
- Profile and optimize content to ensure the best possible performance across various platforms.
- Provide feedback and guidance to content teams on best practices for art creation and optimization.
Qualifications
- Experience with Unreal Engine in a technical art capacity, ideally on a AAA game title.
- Strong understanding of rendering and animation fundamentals, including shaders, materials, and post-process effects.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience in tools development and scripting.
- Experience with modern rendering APIs like DX11, DX12, or Vulkan, and an understanding of techniques like Ray Tracing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- A portfolio or examples of technical art contributions to demonstrate expertise.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with other game engines or DCC tools.
- Familiarity with various game development pipelines and methodologies.
- Experience with performance analysis and debugging tools.
