About the Role
As a Software Development Engineer at Epic Games, you will be deeply embedded within one of our game teams, contributing to the development and enhancement of the Unreal Engine for specific game needs. This role is crucial for leveraging the full potential of Unreal Engine to create immersive and high-performance gaming experiences.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and other engineers to understand project requirements and technical challenges.
- Design, implement, and maintain core engine features, systems, and tools for game projects.
- Develop and optimize various aspects of the Unreal Engine, including rendering, networking, gameplay, and tool development.
- Contribute to performance analysis, debugging, and problem-solving to ensure a smooth and efficient gameplay experience.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to continuously improve code quality and maintainability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in game development technology and contribute to innovation within the team.
What We're Looking For
- Strong proficiency in C++ programming.
- Extensive experience working with Unreal Engine, demonstrating a deep understanding of its architecture and various systems.
- Experience in areas such as rendering, networking, gameplay programming, or tool development within a game engine context.
