The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in New York. You will be instrumental in building the products that power our business, from our reinsurance platform to tools for underwriters and brokers. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and data scientists to deliver innovative solutions that make a real impact on climate resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack.
  • Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our systems.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js).
  • Experience with backend development using Node.js or Python.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
