At Workday, the Enterprise Data Science and Advanced Analytics team delivers impactful ML models to support growth and optimization needs of Sales & Marketing, CX, Product analytics, and Finance organizations. The team focuses on blending design, product engineering, analytics, and automation to build custom-built ML Models and data products.
About The Role
As a Senior ML Engineer, you will design and deliver innovative Machine Learning solutions as part of intelligent products on Amazon Web Services and H2O. This involves using core cloud data science tools, ML Ops components, and other big data related technologies. You will help lead and craft projects in their initial phases and deliver them with a team, collaborating closely with a variety of stakeholders across the Workday organization and the Enterprise Data and Architecture teams.
What You’ll Do
- Provide Machine Learning thought leadership and vision internally and to stakeholder organizations.
- Build a sense of community and encourage a culture of collaboration and curiosity.
- Implement models and algorithms on AWS and H2O.
- Build tools to accelerate feature experimentation and exploration with lineage, data privacy protection, and model performance debugging.
- Build ML-as-a-service, with the purpose of taking experiments to production.
- Write in Python or other languages to deliver a wide variety of Machine Learning & Data Science solutions.
- Recommend and implement architecture to deploy machine learning pipelines and CI/CD processes at scale.
- Stay abreast of new tools, packages, and Machine Learning techniques while consistently pushing the limit of what is possible.
- Manage AWS assets including compute, storage, ID management.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to apply Workday’s agile processes and be responsible for the initiation, delivery, and communication of projects for stakeholder organizations.
- Ensure the delivery of successful outcomes for staffed teams.
- Staff, lead, and mentor data scientists, machine learning practitioners, and engineers.
- Share learnings and project findings with the wider Workday Machine Learning Community.
- Willing to work across multiple time zones.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of technology industry experience.
- 3 - 4+ years of experience implementing models or machine learning algorithms in production.
- Proficient experience writing SQL.
- Experience leading a data science or other technical team.
- Experience on any of these cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience developing models and other data science work with Python (preferred) or R.
Other Qualifications:
- (Preferred) Familiarity with ML Ops pipelines or CI/CD implementations.
- (Preferred) Familiarity with Feature Store implementation and operationalization.
- (Optional) Quantitative graduate degree.
- (Optional) One or more of the following other languages: Python, R, JavaScript, Go, Spark.
- (Optional) Experience acting as a project manager.
