Role
We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our ZDX Engineering team. This role is based in Bangalore, reporting to the Senior Engg. Manager - Data + AI.
You will be responsible for designing and developing our ZDX data platform bringing an AI-first approach to development that analyzes massive volumes of network data to detect anomalies, threats and patterns in near real time. You’ll solve complex real-world business problems by partnering closely with data architects and product teams to deliver impactful automation and intelligence. You will also help design and build Agentic AI systems—developing and orchestrating specialized autonomous agents.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Build and maintain large-scale distributed systems to support the data pipeline including data collection, feature engineering, servicing data from BigData sources, which includes Agentic AI components (agent workflows, orchestration, tool integrations, observability and real-time agent serving)
- Solve complex real-world business problems like threat detection and business intelligence by working closely with stakeholders including data architects, product management, customer success and product engineering teams — building multi-agent solutions that automate analysis and decisioning (e.g., recommendation, triage, and segmentation/policy workflows)
- Work closely with cross functional teams, assess task requirements and scheduling, participate in the development, debug, and support rollout/monitoring plans for agent-based systems

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java, Springboot, preferably in data-intensive environments
- Experience in working with Redis Cache, partitioning-aware query patterns, writing complex, high-performance queries for large-scale analytics platforms (Azure Data Explorer (ADX/Kusto), Google BigQuery)
- Proven experience building and operating LLM or agent-based systems, including multi agent orchestration, agent to agent communications, state management and autonomous decision making agent workflows
- Deep expertise with Distributed infrastructure, and Public Cloud Platform such as Azure, GCP and AWS
- Treats AI as a force multiplier — using it across requirements, design, coding, testing, and reviews to consistently raise the bar
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Proven track record of designing, building and shipping end-end applications at scale that processes billions of events
- Ability to think holistically and design scalable solutions across big data, AI, and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with advanced frameworks like LangGraph, multi-agent systems, agent architectures, prompt engineering and SOTA AI frameworks
