The Role
We're seeking a Squad Leader (Product Owner or SL) for Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML) Solutions Infrastructure at Fidelity Investments. This role requires an SL to provide vision and develop partnerships across technical subject areas to develop and sustain an AI/ML model training and hosting platform built on cloud-native open-source technology.
The SL will also solve for full-stack product development AI-enabled solutions, including front-end, middleware API’s, and backend databases. The SL defines product priorities, plans, and curates a backlog in partnership with the software development team.

AI Solutions Responsibilities:
- Sets overall priorities for the squad, providing integral thought leadership on key points of integration, backlog trade-off, and alignment in collaboration with the Product Area leaders to ensure alignment on overall strategy.
- Partner with AI/ML COE and product area leaders to prioritize and mobilize on a strategic roadmap of capabilities and quarterly execution plans.
- Partners with Chapter Leaders across Product Management, Engineering & AI Center of Excellence to align on strategic decisions, solution development, and work priorities, ensuring the best-in-class engineering fields are at the core of AI/ML solutions.
- Supports aligned squads as they bring value delivered through prioritization, creativity, innovation, partnership, and decision making.
- Responsible for agile events and representing the voice of the AI COE in all squad activities. Ensures alignment on the “what” and “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog.
The Expertise And Skills You Bring
As a Squad Leader/Product Owner, you will work with various data science and machine learning operations (MLops) teams within Fidelity to prioritize the required infrastructure capabilities to bring AI/ML enabled solutions to life. This role requires familiarity with data engineering and AI/ML frameworks, Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies, MLops standard processes, model evaluation & measurement techniques, software development, and business intelligence reporting.
- Advanced degree in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or similar. Preference for an advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computational Statistics, Operations Research, or related technical fields.
- Experience with Machine Learning (ML) and deep learning is required.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS is required.
- Conversant in Python, REST and GraphQL API’s.
- Hands-on experience in developing and evaluating machine learning models on large scale datasets.
- 10-15+ years of hands-on experience in building and leading teams to develop technical solutions and/or software.
- At least 3 years of product strategy experience designing and building applications.
- Strong product management skills, with a proven track record to translate product and capability roadmaps into short-term, tactical delivery plans.
- Agile experience ideal but not required.
- Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders.

The PI DAAP AI Solutions Engineering Product team focuses on providing AI/ML-enriched full-stack solutions to accelerate value delivery and allow the data scientists in our AI Center of Excellence to quickly iterate with business partners. As the leader of the AI/ML Solutions Engineering Squad, you will be instrumental in crafting the vision and sequencing priorities for product development.
